Photojournalism

I choose this picture for photojournalism for many reasons.  I wanted to present a picture with meaning, but not a picture portraying suffering, violence, injustice, etc. This picture has esthetic value, which is important. However, what appeals me to it is that, for me, is about taking risks and letting go. The picture is full of shadow and light as so is life and while there are those that stand back watching; there are also those that dare to fly without fearing adversity or darkness. I wish to fly and look for the light, understanding that darkness isn’t always negative. And so that picture holds a truth that I wish to participate in.
